J-CAT Young Professionals Program
(By Interview Only)
Grades 7-12
Meets 1st Monday of every month from 4:30-6:30pm
*Requires year-long commitment
This series of monthly workshops appeals to the serious actor who wishes to broaden their knowledge of the professional performing arts world. Each in-depth monthly workshop will feature a specific area where students will be exposed to the crafts of audition technique, dance, character analysis, script writing, directing, lighting design, vocal technique, dialects, and more.
Broadway Stars (Levels I & II)
Instructor: Ashley Blake Fisher
Tuesdays 4-5pm (Level II, Grades 3-6) This intermediate level class focuses on the elements to put on a Broadway musical! With training in acting, music, voice, dance, character work, and working with scripts, each student is a STAR as we work to put on an end-of-session musical revue!
Wednesdays 4-5pm (Level I, Grades 1-3) This beginner level class focuses on improv games, creative storytelling, singing, dancing, and working with a script. Each student is a STAR as we work to put on an end-of-session musical revue!
Shalom Stars (Mondays or Thursdays 4-5pm)
Ages 4-6
Instructor: Evelyn Goldfinger
This brand new class combines theatre & creative storytelling with Jewish values, characters, and holidays. A perfect introduction to the work of theatre, this class is designed for Pre-K through 1st graders with a creative side, who will explore the world of Jewish Educational Theatre!
J-CAT Youth Choir
Wednesdays, 4-5pm (Beginner) or 5-6pm (Advanced)
By Audition Only
Instructor: Marlena Tuchinsky
This brand new class will focus on music theory, vocal production, sight singing, and music history. Students will be singing a large range of music from Jewish cultures & beyond.
